Within these Series, there are 3 different Models the "All Floors",

When you buy a machine in a particular series, regardless of the name of it, the vacuum is basically the same. The difference between say a Dyson DC15 "Animal" and a Dyson DC15 "All Floors" unit, is the accessories that are included and the color of the vacuum. (The All Floors is yellow and comes with the standard on board accessories while Animal vacuum is purple and comes with the Low Reach Floor Tool, The Mini Turbine tool and the Carpet Cleaning kit ). Other than that they are virtually identical vacuums.

Dyson DC07 Series

Dyson DC07 - The Dyson DC07 is the oldest model in the Dyson line. It comes in the All Floors, the Low Reach and the Animal version. The DC07 has one motor for both suction and the belt driven beater bar. These are the least expensive of all Dyson series.
The DC07 Series is the original Dyson introduced in the U.S. It is a belt driven system that will clean any type of carpeting or hard floor surface. All the DC07 Series have Automatic Carpet and Floor Height Adjustment, Root 8 Cyclonic Power, HEPA filtration, Quick Draw Hose, 3 Cleaning Tools on Board ( Round Dusting Brush, Furniture/Stair Tool& Crevice Tool), Edge Cleaning Whiskers, Brush Control System, Carpet/Floor Selector, Lifetime pre-filter, Clear Trash Bin and a Reversible Wand. Dyson DC14 - The Dyson DC14 model is the next step up in the series. It comes in the All Floors and the Animal version. The DC14 has one motor for both suction and the belt driven beater bar. Within this series, the "Animal " version with its many accessories is the most popular. The DC14 has a wide channel to pick up larger pieces that other vacuums leave behind.

The DC14 Series is very similar to the DC07 Series as it is also a belt driven system. It has all the features of the DC07 Series with the following enhancements. The DC14 Series has 50% more Cyclonic Power than the DC07 making it more efficient. It has a wider Front Channel to pick up larger debris, a Telescopic Wand that does not have to be reversed to use the cleaning attachments, a larger Handle for easier maneuverability, as well as the pre-filter being mounted on the top for easier cleaning. Dyson DC15 - The Dyson DC15 model is the most advanced model. The is currently one Model in the DC15 Series, the The Animal. This top of the line Series is unique in the Dyson line and unique to other vacuums because of its technology and design. It is also called "The Ball", because it has a large ball (that houses the suction motor) which with a simple turn of the wrist allows you to steer through a wide arc, making it easy to maneuver around furniture and obstacles. The DC15 also has a second motor with a direct drive motorized brushbar that improves pick-up on carpets. Its 2-Motor System and True Direct Drive Brush System eliminates the need for a belt. It uses one motor for suction and a second motor for the Brushing Action.

Dyson DC17 - The Dyson DC17 series is one of the latest models. There are two models the Absolute Animal and the Allergy & Asthma. This series like the DC15 has a direct drive motorized brushbar to improve pick-up on carpets. The difference is the DC17 Series is belt driven. The brushbar on the DC17 is more aggressive than any other Dyson leading to better carpet cleaning especially for pet hair. The DC17 is the only Dyson to have Level 3 Root Cyclone. Like the DC15 and DC17, this vacuum has the direct drive motorized brushbar to improve pick-up on carpets and is a beltless system. The DC18 has a shorter electrical cord, a smaller dust bin, and slightly shorter telescopic reach.
